Fairfax County police say they have arrested a man accused of killing an Annandale woman earlier this month.

Police arrested 49-year-old Santo Ortez Sheffey in southeast D.C. on Sept. 5. He is accused of slaying 46-year-old Sharon Harvin, whose stabbed body was found Sept. 1 at her home on Indian Run Parkway.

Her car was discovered the following night on Shirlington Road in Arlington County.

Police believe Sheffey and Harvin knew each other, but don't know the extent of their relationship.

Sheffey remains in Washington, awaiting extradition to Virginia.
